The Christian Association of Nigeria on Tuesday disowned one Josiah Asumosa, an Assistant pastor with the whole Bible Believers Church located in Ondo State in whose premises 77 kids were rescued recently. The CAN President,  Dr Samson Ayokunle , said the pastor and his church are not members of the Association at all levels. A statement by the  CAN President Special Assistant (Media and Communications), Pastor Adebayo Oladeji on Tuesday, said no true pastor would claim to know the date of rapture because the Bible has stated it clearly that it is only God who knows the date. In a trending news, Pastor Adeboye was quoted to have defended himself, saying that he did not ask Christians to use arms to defend themselves from terrorists. According to him, he asked Christians to defend themselves, but not with guns. In his words, “I never asked Christians to buy guns, Christians don’t need guns."

Stop it, it's wrong. At least show some respect for GOD. I sat next to a lady that was visiting IG, reposting things on WhatsApp status and streaming another church's service in church. My biggest grouse was that she did this throughout the 1hr 45 mins service. When the sermon switched to why we're meant to correct people when we see them acting wrongly, I knew I had to do something. So I tapped her and gave her the "why are you using your phone in church" look. This lady responded so angrily it shocked me. Anyways, we were going to cause a scene so I let her alone. At least I'd passed my message. If you use your phone in church, please stop it. You end up distracting people around you plus it's disrespectful. Please stop it.

Here's a question I'm asking in good faith to believers, how do you differentiate between the word of God and the word of man? Throughout civilization, a vast library of literature spanning aeons, cultures and empires have been written all claiming to be inspired of and containing the will and message of god. Most have been lost in the passage of time, but quite a few remains in the modern times and continues to guide and dictate the daily conduct of millions across the globe. One funny thing about these writings is that despite the bold claim to be the words of a supreme deity, they were all written, compiled by and continues to be propagated by men. God it seems is unable to speak and spread his own ideas. That these writing seems to contradict one another doesn't help matters either. General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged christians to get jaw bones of cows instead of guns, stating that they don’t need guns. Adeboye was clarifying an earlier message where he was quoted to have asked christians to buy guns for their self protection especially the churches during service, saying that Samson was victorious in biblical times with jaw bones and not an AK-47. The respected cleric made this disclosure at Mount Carmel while delivering his message ‘Meant for the top’, in the church’s monthly thanksgiving service monitored by our correspondent.
